Corn earworms will infect sweet peppers--I have had a hard time with
them when located close to commercial corn fields in MA. I sprayed with
kaolin--a clay product that seems more suitable for a face mask than a
pesticide. It cut down on incidence but adhered to the wrinkles in the
cap--the area where the earworm invades--so they cost enough to clean to
significantly decrease profit.
I have never had a problem with hot peppers, no matter where I grew
them.
