I've tried it and the result was:

SERVER:# tsql -S TEST -U admin
locale is "en_US.UTF-8"
locale charset is "UTF-8"
Password:
There was a problem connecting to the server

I've used the right login details because we're also connecting from a
apple(mac) workstation through ODBC and this is working so the login details
have to be correct.

Any more ideas?
