I chose %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc because I have seen other freeware
use that directory for configuration files (e.g. the .rhosts file for the
rshd in the old Windows NT Resource Kit should be installed there). If
there is a better location agreed on by most Windows gurus, I don't mind it
being changed.

As for the other issues, if you are capable of fixing them, please do!

3) freetds_sysconfdir.h needs to be generated. Is there a predefined
directory for the conf files on Win32 ? %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc
does not exist on all platforms.
