Ah. Good old message 5701, eh? Sometimes I think MS stuck that in there to
remind people to write message handlers.

We really should fix (if we haven't already) the default handlers. My TODO
list is getting rather longer than shorter these days, but it's on there.

That variable is was added since 0.53.

The online documentation is updated more or less as the code is; the idea is
to ship the UG (in HTML) as part of the tarball with each release from now
on, so in the future you'll get the 0.60 release with the docs for that
release.

Then, if we get really professional, we'll ask you to register, and in
return we'll mail you an errata sheet. ;)

You're not missing anything. That was the state of affairs then. Having
added a pedant or two to the project since, I don't expect the next release
will yield compiler warnings on most architectures.
