cool, I had the adm create a new username/password for mssql. I can
not connect to it through sqsh and isql. Great, now does anyone have
experience with gnome-db and odbc?

where servername is as it appears in your freetds.conf file. If it
doesn't work set the TDSDUMP environment variable like,
export TDSDUMP=/tmp/freetds.log
and look there for what is going on.
