Everything went fine in that there were no errors during the install. I've
now spent most of today trying to talk to an SQL Server 2000 database
without any luck. It's not even trying to talk to the server. When I run
test.sh it fails every single test.

I can't find the instructions I was following but it's possible it was from
a third party site. The PHP build works fine with make, no need for gmake.
