Growing Medicinal Herbs for Home and Farms

Andrea and Matthias Reisen of Healing Spirits Herb Farm (healingspiritsherbfarm.com) will lead this class on how to grow medicinal herbs in your home garden or farm. They will cover easy and more challenging herbs, and the processes for planting, cultivating, harvesting, processing, and marketing them. Cost: $10-$20/ person self-determined sliding scale, pay what you can afford. Using Plants for Natural Dyes

@CCE-Tompkins Education Center, 615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca, NY 14850

Natural dyes can be made from many wild and cultivated plants, and also from common foods. Textile artists Sarah Gotowka (Luna Fibers) and Tracy McLellan will discuss native dye plants you can grow, methods for dyeing fibers and fabrics, and will show examples.
