PS, fwiw, I think what I said earlier about the breathing with the
variant:

--was wrong, because au(tou= doesn't work after the elided dia. Cf.
Cranfield's note:
"e(autou= is surely to be preferred to the variant au)tou= ..., which
has been understood as referring to Christ."
