Dear Jim,

Further to some of the suggestions already made I would add one other
alternative. In some ways it is a rather idiosyncratic book, but ultimately
it deals
with most of the major theological issues with Paul (through some
consideration of Romans and Galatians in particular). It also has a lengthy
consideration
of the New Perspective and the more traditional viewpoint. The book is:
John G. Gager, Reinventing Paul (Oxford; OUP, 2000)
