I don't have access to this article at the moment.
Does Talbert find this redeemer myth in pre-Pauline non-Gnostic literature?
Where does he find it, for example?

Petrement in _A Separate God_ argues (convincingly, imo) that Gnosticism
followed Pauline Christianity, not preceded it.
