But then, there is nothing in the passage above that says anything about
*meetings* being held on the first day of each week. All he has done is
specify an arbitrary day in which to "put something aside and store it
up".
RSV 1 Corinthians 16:1 Now concerning the contribution [LOGEIAS] for the
saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. 2 On
the first day of every week [KATA MIAN SABBATOU EKASTOS], each of you is to
put something aside and store it up [TIQETW QHSAURIZWN], as he may prosper,
so that contributions [LOGEIAI] need not be made when I come.
