Do the terms doulos and eleuqeros function in the Pauline letters in
their sociological contexts, but with a higher theological
interpretation being imposed by Paul by his own understanding of the
Jewish concept of slavery as an extended part of the family
(Deuteronomic code base) in comparison to the Greco-Roman
property/chattel conept? Do the terms carry different meanings when
addressed to the Romans as say to the Galatians or even in the unique
letter to Philemon? If there are any references available to examine
the rhetorical function of these two terms, a note to that extent would
be greatly appreciated.

Ian
