Really? I would appreciate a summary of the evidence for this. Certainly,
Matthew contains many 'proof texts', but isn't it the case that the list
of "scriptures" the NT authors were "immersed" in were rather selective?

I would appreciate a summary of your conclusions about the OT books with
which Luke was familiar. "Scriptures" to the NT authors meant, of course,
various scrolls. I take it as relatively easy to demonstrate that many
of the NT authors were familiar with, if not "immersed in" Isaiah, the
Psalms, and parts of the Torah (Genesis, as in Paul's use of the Abraham
material; Exodus? Deuteronomy?), but what else?

These questions are germaine to this list in that it is pertinent to know
not only what Paul was familiar with, but also what he could assume that
his Jewish audiences were familiar with.
