All ages show this Saturday the 7th @ the BCHQ (723 N Mangum St). 9:00 p.m.
sharp; $5 suggested donation; all ages.
DES ARK will be performing in solo configuration: Aimee Argote playing her
simply devastating, beautiful songs.
HURRAY FOR THE RIFF RAFF are from New Orleans, and feature several members of
Why are We Building Such a Big Ship? -- but this is a more stripped-down,
world-weary sound (banjo + accordian / fiddle + double bass), with Alynda Lee
leading the whole thing with banjo and voice. Sounds kinda like a mix of
plaintive proto-jazz, old time, and country -- amazing last time they played
BCHQ!
DARK DARK DARK are from New Orleans and elsewhere, and are working in a
similar vein, but perhaps a little more filled-out orchestration wise, and
bit of a carny / balkan feel in the mix, to boot.
CLAWFORM is black metal, played on a banjo.
Thnx! -Colin + the BCHQ booking crew!!
