ANARCHO FILM NIGHT
Join us for a screening of "Anarchism in America". A colorful and
provocative survey of anarchism in America, the film attempts to
dispel popular misconceptions and trace the historical development of
the movement. The film explores the movement both as a native American
philosophy stemming from 19th century American traditions of
individualism, and as a foreign ideology brought to America by
immigrants. The film features rare archival footage and interviews
with significant personalities in anarchist history including Murray
Boochkin and Karl Hess, and also live performance footage of the Dead
Kennedys. Bring yourself, friends, and snacks to share.
Tuesday, March 11 @ 6pm
POLITICAL PRISONERS LETTER WRITING NIGHT
Join us to continue writing letters to political prisoners. Bring
yourself, friends, and snacks to share.
Saturday, March 15 @ 6pm
MATT CALLAHAN AND YVONNE MOORE
After eight years of working together on each other's solo projects
Mat and Yvonne have discovered the creative potential of the duet.
The special sound of two voices singing together, in close harmony,
have inspired a new repertoire and a new approach to performance for
both of them. Exploring the limits set by one acoustic guitar, two
voices and a few 'folk' instruments such as the harmonica and hand
percussion, Mat and Yvonne are finding refreshment in what is very
old. They liken it to an invitation to join them in their living room.
Here, the wine flows, tales are told and recipes are shared. All
are welcome, all may partake and all can contribute to the celebration
of friendship.
