Saxapahaw Rivermill Farmers' Market, Music Series and Kid's Events This Saturday July 22th

Laura Blackley and the Love Handles: Country heartbreak, Southern Comfort-soaked blues, and backwater gospel soul - Laura Blackley and the Love Handles hail from Asheville and have been charming audiences with their vocal power and melodic storytelling - a foray into the grittier side of American Roots music full of soulful swagger, gorgeously unpretentious and stripped-down sincere. www.laurablackley.com Bands play from 6-8 COME ON OUT!

At the MARKET- It's the height of the season! BLUEBERRIES!!-CORN-! BEANS!! FLOWERS, Wine, Chutney, Honey, Lovingly Grown Produce, Herbs, Tarts, Cookies, Bread, Cakes and More! And the arts & crafts section is growing with jewelry, furniture, and metal sculpture. THE MARKET RUNS FROM 5:00 to 8:00.

SPECIAL NOTE!!!!!!THIS WEEK FOR THE KIDS- CERES is on vacation this week so we won't have the Giant Slip -n-Slide or the Zip Boat up this Saturday. Instead the Mosaic Rural Wellness Center will be running the events for kids including MOSAIC TILING at the arts and crafts table. We'll have games and sprinklers so still bring your suits - The Fantastic ZipBoat and the Slip-N-Slide will be back for the rest of the summer next week.

The Saxapahaw Rivermill Farmers' Market, Music Series and Kid's Activities take place every Saturday from 5-8pm through August 26th. All events are in downtown Saxapahaw outside next to the Post Office and across from the Saxapahaw Rivermill. It's a beautiful day out and all are welcome. Directions: From Chapel Hill/Carrboro: Drive west on highway 54 ten miles from the stop light at Carrboro Plaza. Turn left onto Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Road at the green sign and arrow pointing left to Saxapahaw. “Saturdays in Saxapahaw” is 3.5 miles ahead. From Durham: Follow 15-501 through Chapel Hill. It will become the 15-501-54 Bypass. Highways 15 and 501 will exit south toward Pittsboro; continue on highway 54. Follow the directions above for Chapel Hill. From Graham and I-85/40: Take highway 54 east toward Chapel Hill, exit 148. Drive to the intersection of Mebane Oaks Road on the left and Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Road on the right. This is approximately 11 miles from the Interstate. Turn right onto Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Road. “Saturdays in Saxapahaw” is 3.5 miles ahead. From Pittsboro: Take highway 87 north. Go through the blinking light at Eli Whitney; 2 miles farther, turn right at the white historic marker announcing Saxapahaw onto Church Road. “Saturdays in Saxapahaw” is on the right after you cross over the Haw River on the Buddy Collins Memorial Bridge.
