GREENVILLE HOUSE SHOW

Free Your Mind Ho-Down '06
Tues. Jan. 31st
@ The Spazzatorium
1110A Cotanche Street
9PM

featuring:

IndiA (Utah)
http://www.myspace.com/tomjbennett

The name is phoenetic, the pronunciation is the key to it. Its indiA,
pronounced indy A and this is what NDA means: nonviolent direct action.
Acoustic-based heart-felt ballads that convey political discontent as well as
deep-felt emotional outpourings. Anarchy done right. The music will move you,
the message may change you. If your fed up with the world and the state of
affairs listen to what this guy has to say, you're not alone.

O DISCORDIA (Nebraska)
http://www.myspace.com/odiscordia

"Post-folk music with a orchestrated feel. Songs about love, liberty and sad
endings. A sound that conveys that old folk charm mixed with our generations
angst and pain. Stories of adventures, being drunk on trains, burning in the
summer sun hitch-hiking across the coast. O Discordia is the story of the
dying embers of love and America found in a young mans heart. "
-Derek Ammon

LONNIE WALKER
http://www.myspace.com/lonniewalker

BDC's catchy as shit, riggedy-rock show. A future celebrity in our midst.
Solid gold tunes for lovers, lovees, and one-night flings that sting. The
good, the bad, and the better ::lighters up::

THE JARVIS STREET BLUEGRASS BAND
http://www.purevolume.com/ECUbluegrass

The new inhabitants of the place were throwing down b-day style and an
alluring mention of an untapped keg loomed in the air. we made our way to the
house and upon stepping in the sounds of pure country bluegrass filled my
ears and pores. We stepped right in to a massive jam session that lasted
hours. it was inspiring , unexpected, and damn fun times. these boys are
talented and their enthusiasm will have you clapping along and spitting
tobacky in the air like you just don't care.

over half of my intro guitar students are girls younger than 12. and
they all wanna move on to electric guitar. it's been the trend the
last 3 years or so. i can't wait to see what
they come up with in the coming years.

Three words: Girl Rock Camp
One week of the camp was 12 and younger, and the other teenage women.
Their recitals were really amazing and I highly recommend the show when
they hopefully do it again at the end of this coming summer.

Hey Ya'll, Tom and I are playing at 10PM tomorrow night with the
Midtown Dickens at the LIBRARY downtown on Franklin Street (TUESDAY
INDIE ROCK NIGHT). We are doing new songs and about 10 Zippers' songs,
and will be debuting a full M/M band featuring Mark Daumen from SNMNMNM
on tuba and possibly Matt Vorris on drums.

If you haven't heard Midtown Dickens yet, I highly recommend them.
They are two super talented women who play about 15 instruments,
including banjo, saw and trumpet, and record wonderfully unpolished
American gems. Of course, Tom and I still are untalented, drunk and
annoying. And I'll bet you fuckers will have fun if you come. And if
you come to the show.

here in the "future" we do have drum lessons, josiah. once the wusses
arrive into the mid-80's you'll see. but some will opt for drum
machines, but it won't last.

I'm kinda new to this board, had been a lurker for a while but last weeks "
durham music scene" post fest ushered me out of silence. Since I'm here I
have an ad to post and ask for help with. I just posted this on craigslist
and raleighmusic.com. If anyone here knows a drummer that is looking, please
forward this on. Also, are their other local bullitins both on-line or other
that would be a good place to hang this?

Ad:

Our newly formed alt rock band is searching for a drummer. We are inspired
by punk and the indie movement and our goal is to make solid original music
and play out. Our five-piece is currently a male vocalist playing rhythm
guitar, a lead guitar, bass, and keys. We are looking for a creative drummer
who is willing to experiment and influence the music artistically.

We are all in our mid thirties and have careers, wives, kid(s), mortgages
etc. so we're realistic with time commitment and schedule. Hence we practice
once a week on Sunday afternoon barring sick babies and other unforeseen
responsibilities. The band can't be a top priority in our lives, but we are
serious about making great music and having strong performances with the
time we do give to it.

If you are down with our modus operandi, have gig-ready gear, and don't mind
chipping in for a share of the practice space bill, please e-mail me and
have a demo handy.
