Bella Lugosi's Dead - Bauhaus
Tunic - Sonic Youth
God Damn the Sun - The Swans

(I love that verse about them finding the guy dead
--it's so bad it's great:
"They found you in Spain,
face down in the street,
with a bottle in your hand,
and wild smile on your face,
and a knife in your back--
you died in a foreign land. ")

Then there's all those other Gothic bands... Sisters
of Mercy, Christian Death, yadda yadda...
