i know there are some amp geeks here, so here goes:
i'm considering buying a weber 50watt load dump for my fender hot rod
deluxe (1 x 12 speaker rated at 8 ohms). the online ordering page for
the weber box has their default drop down menu set at 2 ohms (also has
4, 4 to 8, and 8). i wasn't able to get the weber guy on the phone to
clarify.
but i will need an 8 ohm box right?
they'll build it to the specicifications i choose. mainly trying to
accomplish making this amp quieter and with the same sweet tube sound
and saturation. this amp, though a tone to die for is much too loud
when i dial in that tone. this weber is much more affordable than
other power brakes i've examined. i've tried building a volume box and
running it through the effects loop, but not happy with that.
