The really weird thing is, when it comes to underground bands...

*the list is actually pretty accurate.*

Seriously, a lot of the up and coming out-of-town bands playing in NYC
these days are from... Pennsylvania and Ohio. Seriously.

And Ohio has probably the hottest underground hip hop scene in the
country, having given us Hi-Tek, SA Smash, RJD2, Copywrite, Blueprint,
etc.

I've heard that Pittsburgh seems to be producing more in the way of
youth culture these days because the college(s) there just blatantly
lie to kids about how much there is to do in Pittsburgh and how the
economy is really hot and the city is going to start booming soon.
When they get there and find out it's not true, they have to make
things happen for themselves.

Obvious choices missing from the list: Portland, OR and Providence,
RI.
