Quoting "Bernd [Skriptenforum.net]" <papa_schlumpf AT skriptenforum.net>:
I really wonder how far these ideas have developped at the moment. I have just
briefly read through the GFDL 2 draft released 25th of September, but was not
able to find any hint for more compatibility between these two licences. Nor
have I found hints in the version 3 CC-licence drafts... Also, I tried to
contact the Software Freedom Law Center (www.softwarefreedom.org) which was
proposed by Lawrence Lessig for handling this change (see again
http://www.heise.de/english/newsticker/news/76501 ) as well as Lawrence
Lessig himself and received no answer.

"And assuming we fix the problem with CC/FDL interoperability -- assuming, wink,
wink -- that would mean your creative work could be included within Wikipedia
(or other copyleft projects), even though the general license you offer is a NC
license."

That would seem to be an encouraging wink. ;-)

I was originally strongly opposed to BY-SA/FDL interoperability but the new
Simpler Free Documentation License answers my practical concerns with invariant
sections, so I now support interoperability between BY-SA and the SFDL (not the
FDL, which sadly still has invariant sections as of the first draft of the new
version).

NC and ND are more problematic to make interoperable.
