Since, without a license, as is common with most books, a library
would not allowed to lend out books or to rent out books, I assume
there is a law or some jurisprudence that specifically allows lending
or renting of copyrighted works.
How would a CC license counteract such law? Or, if such law or ruling
does not exist, how can libraries and videorentals even exist?
