So, Greg: I realize that you've got your own reasons for it, and this
is just an aside from your discussion, but: I find the use of the term
"public domain license" to be confusing and unproductive. I know that
you mean a BSD-style (or, say, for CC, an Attribution-style) license,
but other people won't, and I think that's hard.
"Public domain license" is an oxymoron. If something is in the public
domain, you have no right to license it to anyone.
Considering that CC _does_ have a public domain "dedication", which is
different from Attribution-style licenses, it's probably worthwhile,
at least on this list, not to use the term "public domain license" for
those attribution-only style licenses.
