Dear all:

I run an alternative publishing firm and we encourage our authors to use the CC (or other sharable) licenses. So far, about 5 of our 90+ books have been released under the CC license.

As someone into photography too, I've released about 55,000+ photographs of mine under the cc license. See https://www.flickr.com/photos/fn-goa/

The following books that came from IIT Bombay have been released under CC:

http://www.it.iitb.ac.in/~sri/ssrvm/ - a print version is available commercially.  This covers computer science topics for school students.  My colleague Prof. Sridhar Iyer is leading this activity.

Similarly, we released the e-version of the book "
Oscad: An open source EDA tool for circuit design, simulation, analysis and PCB design" under CC BY SA.  A print edition is also made available at a low cost by Shroff Publishers, Mumbai, see http://www.shroffpublishers.com/detail.aspx?cat=0&title=5687.  I can send the link for the soft copy of the book or can email it to anyone.

We are also in the process of releasing another book, "Microcontroller experiments through Arduino, Scilab and Xcos", also in the same arrangement as for the previous entry (Oscad).

By the way, all the spoken tutorials (http://spoken-tutorial.org) and the creations of FOSSEE (http://fossee.in) are released under CC BY SA.

Regards,
Kannan

I know about 3 Malayalam authors who released their book under CC-BY-SA
(All three available in Malayalam Wikisource)

1. J Devika (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Devika ). Book -
Kulasthreeyum Chanthappennum Undaayathengine

2. K Venu (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K._Venu_%28Kerala%29 ). Book -
Prapanchavum Manushyanum

3. K Pappootty. Book - Jyothishavum Jyothishasthravum
Thank you Bala, looking for more, I had a suspicion that people in the
south would do, but looking for some who might be in Maharashtra or
hereabouts, because southern authors would be known by and large by
people from the south or those who read Malayalam literature whereas
if we know/have more would be good.
