in that case, we need more public pressure for the rthk's opening up. can we release the news to a wider public and do a online public survey by ourselves to create public opinion?

I have contacted Mayella Cheung of RTHK and this is her response.

Dear Haggen,
Glad to hear that!
Since the CCHK was established in Nov last year, I have been trying to
"educate" RTHK Management and push for the setting up of a "RTHK Creative
Archive". It's not that easy as there are still some internal resistance
at the senior level about opening up RTHK archives (especially from the
unit which handles RTHK programme licencsing of DVD/VCD).
But fortunately the new Deputy Director of Broadcasting (ie. an AO from
the govt) seems to like my idea and asked me to draft the questionaire to
first get some feedbacks from RTHK Programme Advisory Panel Members. I
guess at least this is a good step to push it forward.
And besides the Advisory Panel members, I also sent the questionaire to
some academics and hope to seek their views as well.
To make things happen, it would indeed be great and useful if there is
some outside support (eg. press write-ups) of this RTHK Creative Archive
initiative :-)
As I'm not in the CC-hk mailing group, pls feel free to post this up for
me in your mailing list discussion.
And pls feel free to let me know if there is anything I can help.
Thanks.
Rgds,
Mayella Cheung
RTHK Deputy Head of New Media
