Thinkpad 560X uses the same sound chip and modules. There is no setup option to disable quick boot but sound works with the default.
Win98 sound also started working once I disabled Quick Boot on the 600E
but not on a second 560X where the setup program tests sound as okay. (I will try it with loop BL3 in the free 100MB of the 800MB CF-IDE drive).
ALSA sound (Puppy, supposedly Debian, Ubuntu) works on 600E and 770E (560X has 'only' 96MB RAM - too little for Puppy) only if you boot (loadlin etc.) with acpi=off and pnpbios=off. Why does BL2/OSS not need this?
