Just changed the above but kept the same names.

The kernel now has everything built-in:
serial, parallel, CD-ROM, scsi/usb, sound, and net.

Removed PLIP and also PPP. The built-in AMR modem (windows only) prevents ALL other modems from working.

Not fully tested but sound still works. I hope scsi was not needed for usb storage. I left it supporting 586/686 though it is 700Mhz (PII? PIII?).

Sound did not work before. I removed OSS support (not needed by i8xx).. SCSI was needed for USB storage and is now built in. Changed to PIII kernel. Added some more USB storage drivers for CF and SM cards (now that my SM card reader stopped working and I need to find another one).

Plenty of memory here.
Kernel is now about 800K. 384MB memory minus video and kernel.
Removed some irrelevant stuff such as ISA and CMD640 bug.

I will compile custom kernels on request to solve similar problems.
