CDlinux with ntfs read/write support, when told to
rm -r -f $NtUninstall*
removed everything in the directory instead (all of /WINDOWS).
Is rm supposed to do this? Or is it a bug in ntfs-g3?
I was removing garbage while looking for the location of the XP registry.
We found 7 dumpster computers, 1.2-2.2GHz with 40-60GB drives, and passwords. No big deal, we can use the drives for better things.
nukent is supposed to clear passwords but the default location
of the registry was wrong.
A larger live CD might do better at password clearing.
