Hi Sindi and Steven,

Thanks to both of you for the responses.

Sindi, i appreciate the detail of your response, but it got
into stuff that's more complicated than what i want to do.
On this machine, i'm trying to keep BL3 relatively "pure"
while still adding some addons.

Steven, i downloaded and installed xpdf.tgz from
a Slackware 4 repository. But the first time i tried
to use it, i got this error message:

[#] xpdf [filename].pdf
xpdf: can't load library 'libXpm.so.4'

Can i just download libXpm.so.4 from somewhere, or do i
have to use "pkg" to install it? Thanks.
