Hi Steven,

Thanks for the info. And thanks to the
previous (unsigned) post, i got what i
wanted: johnbeck.org's ssh.tgz includes
scp, and that enables me to download files
from my school account to my BL laptop at home.

Other comments:

I found out upon trying scp that i need to have
the target directory at the end of the command,
even if it's only a period. So perhaps i left it
out when trying wget too, and perhaps that's why
it didn't work.

Isn't newer always better? (said partly in jest ...)
