Excuse me again, I am having a lot of trouble:
whoami says Í'm root, ok.
but:
cd /etc/fstab gives cd: 2: can't cd to cd/etc/fstab
and
go /etc/fstab gives sh: go: not found
and simply
/etc/fstab says "permission denied"
well, so I did "startx", then in the JWM I could discomment the msmod
options in /etc/fstab
later I did mount /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom
(I've created both "/mnt/cdrom" and "/mnt/floppy" directory previously)
And I had the following messages:
mount: /dev/hdc is write-protected, mounting read-only
mounting /dev/hdc on /mnt failed: no medium found (at that time
there was no CD on drive)
So I tried to insert an audio CD and mount it again, but it says there is an
error at track 2 and the mounting fails.
Do I have to make different mounts for each kind of media?
When I try to format a floppy, fdformat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy says:
FDFMTTRK: Device or resource busy
I don't understand the meaning of that message since I've opened the system
resources screen and it showed no significative modifications to say
something is "busy" (4.3% for one proccess and 0,x % for every others).
Certainly I'm making something wrong or I didn't do some important
procedure.
The problem is, I know NOTHING about Linux and despite the fact that I
really want to learn it, I can't find HOW to learn it methodically (
Commands are easy to find, but I think it's not enough ).
Can you recommend a good source? (unfortunately it has to be free)
Thank you again.
