- Subject: [BL] BL2 dial and ssh as 'user'
- Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2007 17:41:10 +0000 (UTC)
I cannot dial as 'user' with eznet: /etc/ppp/options No such file. What is root using as the equivalent? I can't find anything in /root with strings eznet ppp or options.
I cannot ssh as 'user' after copying over from /root to /home/user the subdirectory .ssh and making both files in it user users instead of root root. ssh: Permission denied (publickey,password,keyboard-interactive)
Lynx and links work now after cp -a /root/* (and .*?) /home/user and chown user * and chown user .*, same for ./links and /Mail and .ssh.
Abisuite and opera were already user users and worked to start with.
The TAG gang tell me to switch to some distribution that does not operate as root, such as Puppy Linux or DamnSmallLinux. I said I would try to dial and run X and go online as 'user' but it is tricky. Educational too.
