- Subject: [BL] ISA NICs
- Date: Tue, 29 Aug 2006 17:39:03 +0300
I am trying to use one NE2000 compatible ISA NIC in one of my Baslinux
computers, but there is problem with I/O adresses, IRQs and generally
ISA PnP.
The computer is 486SX 33MHz 20MB RAM (model: ICL ErgoPRO C4/33B),
and the NIC is unnamed. From MAC adress prefix "004005", it belongs to
"Ani Communications Inc". Howewer, this manufacturer can be found only
in these MAC adress assignment lists... Probably nonexistent by now.
The card works fine in Win98 box, but because it is PnP, I/O adress and
IRQ that I see in Win98, are irrelevant for Linux. I think that i could
disable Plug and Play in that card, but required utility is unavailable
because manufacturer is nowhere to be found. Is there any other way to
disable PnP in that NIC?
