Lovely. Does it require VESA 2.0 or will 1.2 work?

The web site says VBE 2.0.

I have one VESA 2.0 card (Trident 3D) that I could not get to do fb.
I will see if it can view jpegs without zgv, with Mplayer.

Have you tried your Mplayer with BL3?

Yes. I haven't tried the networking on BL3, though.

Such as streaming MP3? A former list member has mpg321 (from SW9.0) working now -- he had no idea you could just direct it at a URL.
