I am trying to figure out httpd. I type httpd on a computer with
BL3 and then try to use a browser to access it from the other
networked computer:
lynx 192.168.1.2 (the httpd computer is 2). 'Network is unreachable'.
What am I missing?

I have no idea. I just type in httpd on BL3, and then if I'm connected to
the Internet, I can telnet into my arbornet shell account, and use links
from there to download files from my BL directory. lynx? What kind of
system are you accessing it from?

BL3 to BL3 via ethernet in the same room.

On computer 192.168.1.2 I made a www directory, cd'ed there, created index.htm, typed httpd, then from the other BL3 computer typed lynx 192.168.1.2. Should it be lynx http://192.168.1.2/www/index.htm?
Or is the default /public_html ?

In a previous posting there was something about 'httpd -u www' but Steven said you only needed to be in the directory with index.htm, I think.

There is something about a .config file httpd.conf which I don't
have - do I need to make one?

No. I don't have one and it works just fine.
