  • Subject: [BL] How do you set eth0 for a block of IPs?
  • Date: Tue, 1 Mar 2005 16:22:29 +1100

I have eth0 and eth1 in a BL3 machine.

I have ipchains installed along with the correct bare.i kernel.

I want to tell eth0 to accept trafic from a block of IP's so i can use this machine as a firewall that drops unwanted packets.

My adsl modem is configured with the block of ip's and feeds them all into the BL3 machine. However I need to know how to tell BL3 to accept them so ipchains can forward them to eth1.

imagen my block is 200.0.0.200 to 200.0.0.207 with 200, and 207 already taken by the ADSL modem which passes all trafic from this block into a small switch. the ADSL modem's gateway is 200.0.0.201.

I have setup a NAT router on 200.0.0.202 that works just fine.

I want to use the BL3 machine to accept ip's 200.0.0.203-206 on eth0, and pass some packets to eth1 if they pass the ipchains testing.

All help welcome.
