Of mirror sites listed for BL3:
slackware.com, planetmirror and nluug are busy (got tired of waiting)
psu.edu - bad FTP login
tiscali.de - not found on this server
brasil and xs4all - readily accessed, slackware 3.3 to current
kpn - slackware 2 (!) to current

I have a slackware 4.0 'live' directory on the CD but did not find it online at brazil - is the live directory ever online?

I wanted just the so library file for libvga. Is the one in BL1 (from an earlier SW, 3.5?) just as good? It is 1.2.1 and 4.0 has 1.3.1.
This would have been quicker (downloading one library) than copying from CD to another computer and thence floppy disk to transfer to this laptop.

BL3 Xsetup asks if your mouse has a round plug (PS/2). On laptops there is often a built-in mouse - is this always PS/2? If so, this could be added to a future Xsetup.
