This is quite frequent behaviour among Czech managers. They do not
bother with MS Word, but write what they want into a table and send
it as attachment to you.

Catdoc ver. 0.93 comes with a second binary xls2csv that converts 2D
.xls sheets into .cvs format, text with tables separated by ';'.
You will be able to import this to any spreadheet, I think even
the minimalist one in BL.
