This mail was sent with BL3-02 and then forwarded. ppp-on and send worked
fine from the X menu. Mail was written in console mode.
I had to make an rxvt to telnet from - not on the menu.

The backspace key did not work on the To: or Subject:
lines in the mail writing program in X, BL3-02 or -03, but it works
fine in console mode.

I note that you have added to pppsetup both idle 0
(no idle time out) and an explanation of chat no.

I am now editing this mail directly in the outbox, with e3pi.

In BL3-01 X the To: and Subject: windows overlapped, which they don't
do in -02 (console or X modes). The backspace key still does
not work in To: or Subject: but Ctrl-H will work instead.

PROBLEM:
This computer has a 1280 Compaq color VGA monitor plugged in.
On first boot I typed startx, then

I typed C and could not see anything
I typed Enter and saw ??
I typed Enter a few more times and saw ?? ?? ??

The mail menu works this time - on the other computer
where startx menu did not work, the mail menu also
did not work (could not see numbers that I typed).

This computer (D) is using DR-DOS 6.22, Intel 166MHz CPU.
The previous computer (C) , where I did not have this problem
in setting up X, had Cyrix P200+ CPU, MS-DOS 6.22.
The first two computers both had Win98 MS-DOS 7, and one
of them (with the mono VGA monitor in it) had the problem
and the other did not. The one with the problem (B) has an
Intel 133MHz, the other (A) an AMD K-6.

Might the Intel cpu be causing this problem? Computers
B and D both have Intel cpus, and both have problems.

---------------
On computer B after I rebooted (without bypassing
autoexec.bat and config.sys) startx worked. I just
rebooted D and was able to hit c and see it appear
and then hit Enter and get into X. Worked perfectly now.

What might rebooting have fixed?

You might want to put something about this in Readme -
if something is not working in a menu or X, reboot and try again.
Also boot DOS with F5 if X is not working right.

The new cursor color is fine on both black and white backgrounds.
I notice it is defined in the menu as -C not -cr darkcyan.
Did you modify some other file to specify the cursor color?
And you don't have -fn or -fb - where did you put those?
