Did you ever try zip.com by Eric Meyer? I found it to be a good non-MS
interlnk/intersvr replacement.

I used to experiement with PLIP alot (both DOS and Linux) and
found that half of my computers simply couldn't do it. Problem
is *both* computers must be capable for it to work. I've wasted
wasted many hours trying to get a non-capable computer to PLIP.
It is very annoying that interlnk/intersvr (a Micro$oft utility)
works with everything. But sadly PLIP does not. I would happily
sacrifice the extra speed of PLIP to get the universality of
interlnk/intersvr.

I've been there. There is no way to tell whether (1) you are
making some little mistake in your configuration (in which case
you should keep trying) or (2) one of the computers is not capable
(in which case you should have stopped an hour ago).

Ugh. I've only had two laptops. Neither was PLIP capable.

But is the other computer plip capable?

I wish I could be more positive, but PLIP is a harsh mistress.
I've wasted many an hour pursuing her. On the right hardware,
she's beautiful. But the likelihood of you having the right
hardware at both ends is not good.
Cheers,
Steven
