I want to try out Basic Linux out on the following :
- Pentium 133HZ
- 2 gig hard drive
- 16 Mb memory
- 48x cdrom
So far I have done the following:
- Down loaded the zip containing Basic Linux
- Unzipped the contents and including make the floppies.
- Created the floppies.
- I ran off of the floppies once.
- It seem to work ok.
- I then decided install it on the hard drive.
- I have created a boot.bat file with following in it.
- loadlin zimage root=/dev/hda1 ro
- This file is locate on my C: DOS drive.
- I have a attempted to load the files on the hard drive
- I also found files located on my hard drive which I need
- loadlin.exe
- zimage
Here is what it say:
Warning: unable to open an initial console
Kernel panic: no init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
This is were it stops and does nothing else.
On the screen still is my various information that has been found .
One of these items is my disk partitions and they are
hda: hda1 hda2 <hda5 hda6>
Under DOS I have
- C drive 760 Mb
- D drive 520 Mb
- E drive 520 Mb
- G Drive cdrom
So can someone please tell me why it will not run.
