Possible, yes. But why would you want to?
If your computer is powerful enough to run OpenOffice,
then it's powerful enough to install a full-featured
distribution (like SuSE or RedHat) that includes
OpenOffice.
For BasicLinux, I recommend AbiWord. It is available
at the BasicLinux download site.
