Linux can do TCP/IP over a parallel cable, but I don't know
whether win2k can. DOS can. On several occasions, I've used
the PLIP packetdriver on DOS to connect to a Linux system via
TCP/IP.
DOS (and Windows I think) normally use interlnk/intersvr to
connect over a parallel cable. AFRAIK Linux cannot use that
protocol (although it wouldn't surprise me to find that the
samba package provides that capability).
I have been Windows-free for many years, so I am pretty ignorant
(as you can see) about what can be done with Windows.
Cheers,
Steven
