No, I wouldn't recommend installing the BL1 compiler on a BL2
system. What I think I said was: static binaries produced on
BL1 will probably work on BL2. Currently, we have four static
binaries that work on either BL1 or BL2: ssh, xfreecell, e3
and abiword.

If you can make a completely static binary on BL1, there is a
good chance it will work on BL2. Unfortunately, some source
code expects glibc2 and makes calls that do not exist in libc5.
If you try to compile such source code on BL1, it will fail.
