Hi again,

drivers are modules in linux "languages"é
you can find them in slackware 7.1 CD or mirror in /lib/modules/2.2.16/misc
for sound card you need to know what is your card and maybee read some
howto's about sound . maybee search with google with the name of you'r board

that's the way.

I am using BL2 to telnet to my bbs where I use Lynx. (This is so I can
send a photo to someone that I have downloaded with lynx since I don't
think there is any way to send attachments with BL2 mail).

The up and down arrow keys do not work. The right arrow key acts like an
up arrow (goes to the previous link). The tab works (goes down to the
next link).

I then tried the Kermit telnet program and got the same result (except
that I was first asked for root's password, typed Enter key, incorrect
password message, login:).

When I dial in with minicom or kermit I don't have this problem. When I
telnet in I think it is identifying somehow as VT100 and when dialing in
it identifies as terminal type linux. But I am not sure of this.

Is there some easy way to fix things so telnet identifies my terminal type
as linux, or how else would I fix this problem?

You are all welcome to set up free accounts at my bbs to check this out,
of course.

Instead of telnetting to the bbs to send mail, I would prefer to have a
mail program on BL2 that can send binary attachments. Any
recommendations? I don't need to receive mail, just send it with
attachments. Has anyone tried Pine, Mutt or Elm with BL2? My ISP does
not support IMAP - does Pine require that?

The BL2 dialing program is successfully connecting and staying connected
with some off-brand modem (33K) that I could not get to work with the DOS
version of ppp (which is fussy and you often have to dial 2-3 times, or it
on some modems it won't work at all). I suspect that things are timing
out but don't know how to change the defaults in the DOS version. I
continue to be impressed with BL2, which has worked with every modem I own
including one that rarely works with anything else but Kermit (with BL2
it always dials and connects, though it does drop the connection after a
while), and with all other hardware we have tried. I am even more
impressed after trying three packaged linuxes.
