How I see it:

1. Appears to me that AXAD אחד is a variant of AXAZ
אחז 'held, held together'.

2. I see BO = B-O as consisting of the single-consonant root,
or existence marker, B, 'be', and the personal pronoun,
or identity marker, O = HU). To me, the question is reduced, then, to who wears
this identifying tag marked "O".
