Harold,
I'm not quite following what you are saying. What did Satan mean by "to your
face"?

HH: No, it does not seem to work. The "if not" is a veiled oath formula,
so Satan is swearing that Job will bless God to his face. And really,
what does "to your face" mean with "bless"?
Yours,
Harold Holmyard

I have appeared because Jesus is coming. I am the forerunner, like John the
Baptizer. If you care to accept it, I am John. John is my confirmation name.
I have basically been without a teacing post and homeless for several years
due to persecution.
My working synthesis for the origins of early Israel to the Solomonic
monarchy is found in my book, Tradition and History in Early Israel. It is
time to think synthetically about ancient Israel instead of only atomistic
concerns.

Well, I can think of a few reasons why you might be out of job, and
only *among* them is this strange proclamation of yours. Good luck
with your heralding. In the meantime, can we keep the posting here
restricted to issues related to the Hebrew Bible and not delusions of
reincarnated glory?
Best regards,
