Hi Peter,

I hope you don't mind me trimming your note. I read it all carefully and hear your important concerns. I really am loathe to take up an inordinate share of list traffic with the topic "how to debate on b-hebrew." I do thank you for your interest!

Am I expected to back down and allow other list members to be led astray by his non sequiturs?

I think it would suffice to point out that Rolf's position is his alone, and whether it is being applied substantially in journals, dissertations, seminaries, etc.

You picked up my main point, right? I simply advocate the kind of restraint that would make b-hebrew hospitable to more professional, credentialed Hebrew scholars.

Shalom,
Bryan
