Dear Isaac,

I am not agreeing with you per se. And it it not just "now" that I am in
agreement. I have been persuaded of the existence of a short prefix verb
for a while now (but maybe not as long as you as I am young in years).

Perhaps you could explain what you mean by "short prefix verb"? Does it
mean a verbal inflection of the Semitic prefix-type (as opposed to suffix
type inflections like SOFARTI), and which is also short (YOQOM < *yaqum0
as opposed to YAQUM < *yaqumu)? If so, my guess is that Mr. Fried has
a completely different understanding of "short prefix verb" (probably, a word
prefix that should be analyzed as a short verb).
