I've already commened on the word XLL.

Chris,

The word Xalil as a musical instrument apears in 1 Sam. 10:5, among others.
Of course, the Iron Age Xalil was obviously not identical to the modern one,
but there's plenty of evidence that flutes were used in the ancient world.
